Vivaldi - The Four Seasons, Recomposed by Max Richter

Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi - The Four Seasons is the 2012 album by neo-classical composer Max Richter. The album is a complete recomposition and reinterpretation of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Although Richter said that he had discarded 75% of Vivaldi's original material, the parts he does use are phased and looped, emphasising his grounding in postmodern and minimalist music. The album is a collaboration between Max Richter, Daniel Hope, the Konzerthaus Kammerorchester Berlin symphony orchestra, and André de Ridder.

Gustav Holst - The Planets - Berliner Philharmoniker, Herbert von Karajan

The Planets, Op. 32, is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1916. Each movement of the suite is named after a planet of the Solar System and its corresponding astrological character as defined by Holst. The concept of the work is astrological rather than astronomical (which is why Earth is not included): each movement is intended to convey ideas and emotions associated with the influence of the planets on the psyche, not the Roman deities.

Russian Circles - Station

If Chicago instrumental combo Russian Circles founded a school, their curriculum would ditch the "three Rs"—who needs language arts when your discipline forgoes words?—in favor of a trio of Gs: geography, geometry, and geology. Studied closely, their music revolves around exploring diverse terrain, measuring spatial relations, and stratifying layers. And, yes, Russian Circles rock: at times, quite hard.

Gravitysays_i - Quantum Unknown

If their previous album was a big battle with themselves, “Quantum Unknown” is the liberation from their own selves. In this mood they began creating this album of 6 tracks, which is the result of four years of recordings and intense experimentation of the band in new fields of music and lyrics. This time, the band’s themes play with every knowledgeable form in an attempt to escape from the human gaze itself. Music-wise the experimental and electronic element replaces the electric effusions of their previous work.
